How GRE Quant Actually Tests Rate Problems

Quant · Strategy

This is a sample post so you can check that Notion headings, lists, math, and images survive the landing build. Delete it after the first successful deploy.

The setup

A GRE Quant rate question is rarely “distance divided by time.” It is usually two rates, a leftover piece, and a trap that looks like the obvious formula.

  1. Name the two rates in the same units.
  2. Write what is not moving during the overlap.
  3. Solve for the unknown, then check the leftover.
